What a fabulous home makeover this turned out to be! This client came to me fresh from a divorce, looking to eradicate the purple and green floral window coverings, the out-dated ivory 12 x 12 tile and the dilapidated, stained carpets. The before pictures here were taken at the demolition stage of the project, when I was called in for a consult.

The only items this homeowner intended on keeping and insisted I work into the new look was his new all-leather sofa, love seat and recliner the pub style kitchen table and chairs and the existing dining room table and chairs.

As with most bachelors, this client, informed me right from the get go that he wanted to turn the living room into a game room and put a pool table right in the middle of the room. This is designer’s nightmare, but it was my job to make his dream come to fruition. So with a wave of my magic wand…..Walla………the after photos.

It was very important for me to find the right look for this home; it was lacking personality, design and style. After several sit-downs with my client I finally landed on a style I chose to call “Ralph Lauren gone Hunting”. This client is an avid hunter and is proud of his trophies, as depicted throughout the home. His main objective in his new look was to have a place for the guys to come “hang out” and feel welcome. Stuffy and traditional was not a style he was interested in.

I truly feel we nailed his style and personality. The look we were going for came through as strong and masculine, just as we intended! I have to say that all in all the project worked down to every last detail with one exception…….we had originally found a cowhide rug for the family room, with subtle browns and ivories graining the stunning hide; however, his dog too found the hide to be quite a delicacy himself and continued to chew and gnaw on the edges until we finally had to replace it…these pictures were taken with the “temporary fix” in place while the new sisal was on order.
